“And I didn't really know, I didn't have my bearings, so I didn't do a very good job. It was only when I got back a couple of weeks later to my little house in Washington. Vividly remember being dropped by the yellow cab on my doorstep and I just started uncontrollably sobbing.”

“Through Buffalo back when, I guess, in the 60s campaign, he was just a little boy. Tim just was such a great newsman and he would start every day, and often we'd both be in for the Today show, so we'd both be in the newsroom at 6.30 in the morning, and he'd say, hey, Mitch, what do you got today?”
“At the University of Pennsylvania, we had a student union, a student hall, Houston Hall, and the radio station was on the third floor, and I was down the hall in an NAACP meeting as a freshman and heard music and didn't even know about the radio station and that you could try to join it.”
