Arthur C. Brooks is The Convener by design, not merely disposition. Leading AEI, he deliberately pursued dialogue across ideological lines, building a platform where competing ideas could meet rather than collide. His Harvard course on leadership and happiness, his books, and his public speaking all serve one purpose, creating spaces where divided people find shared understanding.
“Reason she told me later is because I was the first man that never lied to her. I never lied. Now, that's part of my upbringing. And that has to do with your family, et cetera. That was a really super important value in my home. You had to be honest. The only really dramatic and scary consequences with my parents from lying. Don't lie.”
