Arthur Mensch fits The Disruptor archetype because his entire public posture is a challenge to the prevailing order of frontier AI. A former DeepMind researcher, he co-founded Mistral AI in Paris in 2023 and moved at unusual speed, releasing capable open-weight models that undercut the closed, capital-heavy playbook of larger American labs.
