“I did. I had a very good relationship with John, with Speaker Boehner. And this is a guy that had a tremendous respect for the institution. Would do anything to protect the institution and recognize that the institution worked best by making sure that he was giving and there was some give and take there, certainly with the other side.”
“I argued that with, frankly, of both speakers, to say, look, if the Freedom Caucus is going to take us down that path, let's cut the deal. And frankly, it's going to have much better opportunities.”
“Condoleezza So I don't have any regrets about the way things went down or the positions that I've taken. I stand by them and I'm happy to discuss them with anybody. I had some people ask me, you know, would you work with the president, with Donald Trump, if you became president? I said, of course. Like it would work with any president.”
“Well, what's interesting is even for my wedding, you can't get the advance hat off. So I'm looking at certain things and my wife's rolling her eyes and tables this way, that sort of thing. But yeah, ultimately I got an opportunity to work with Senator Dole doing advanced work on that campaign.”
