IN THEIR WORDS, WHY GUARDIAN

Yeah, I think. In the 90s, I spent a lot of time in Brussels and did a lot of time after that in Brussels. And I think people who go to Brussels usually has two effects on them. Most, the majority effect seems to be what a wonderful thing. This is a great organisation. Let's get, you know, we need to work with it.

POLITICAL THINKING WITH NICK ROBINSON

I think trade, well, as I said, I think trade is one aspect of the total picture, which is a much, much broader one. I think many of us made up our minds about whether leaving the EU as opposed to trying to reform it was the right policy quite late. I think it was only when the Cameron negotiation failed.

POLITICAL THINKING WITH NICK ROBINSON

I mean, people can't, by the time they reach his age, my age, you know, basically people have foundered their ideas and the way they work. And I agree, you can't expect change.

POLITICAL THINKING WITH NICK ROBINSON

Well, Boris's remarkable guy, and he can do things that other people can't. So I don't find it at all surprising that we're getting this sort of noise about will he come back? Could he do the job? I think the party needs to think quite hard before it kind of goes down this road.
