But then along the way, globalization became a big deal in terms of my analysis, especially with the end of the Cold War in the late 1980s. I'd observed based on the U.S. CPI going all the way back to the 1800s, the CPI has these peaks historically. They're not random. They're actually associated with wars.

Well, I mean, arithmetically, they're very important. They're about 28% of the market cap of the S&P 500. They're huge in terms of their impact. And some people look at that and say, well, that's not healthy. It's a sign that this market is vulnerable. And I'm empirical about it. It is what it is. These are great companies.

Well, several years ago, I didn't see the point of doing all these charts manually over and over again. And when you run this chart, where is it? And so we came up with an in-house program.

Street. Well, I didn't really know what I wanted to do when I was an undergraduate, so I took everything from a couple of courses in engineering, physics, math, political science, and economics. And based on all that, I realized I wasn't any good at math or at physics. So I had to go into something a little softer and easier.
