What holds, and what fails, under pressure, standards and accountability.
Frank Bruno MBE, born Franklin Roy Horatio Bruno on 16 November 1961 in Hammersmith, London, is a British former professional boxer and, in the second act of his public life, one of the most recognised advocates for men’s mental health in the UK.
“The foundation is a place where people can come, train, and talk. It's a safe environment — confidential — where people can open up. They come in tense, leave relaxed. It's about talking, building confidence, and not feeling ashamed.”
“The reason I had to retire — I had a detached retina in my eye when I fought Tyson the second time. I shouldn't have been in the ring, but I had a family to support.”
“Men don't get things off their chest. They bottle up stress, anxiety. Even something small like missing a mortgage payment can stress you out. Men think it's embarrassing to admit they're struggling.”
