“It's the leading of that fundamental work that we find important. When I look at your asset allocation currently, I think you're around 75% in equity, which is split 52% public and 23% private. Broadly 8% credit, 8% property in the balance in cash and bonds.”
“We regularly debate this on the team and where we come out is we fundamentally believe that there are, it's rare and I think if you looked at the statistical distribution I think we're talking way less than the top percentile. It's less than a percentile where we think that there's true enduring talent in most asset classes.”
“It gets rapidly quite difficult to find people. And that gets you really excited because then you know you're on to something where possibly there's a good macro theme industry right for disruption or change and there's not much capital hanging around it.”
“I mean, if you set an exam in an MBA course and said, knowing what you know about financial theory, if I tell you that interest rates are already zero or negative, I tell you how much cash is a wash in the system. I tell you how much private equity dried powder is out there.”
