“Well, I think we successfully, actually at the beginning of the campaign, I called my friend Hillary Clinton and asked her about her experience running for president with Chelsea being 13 years old, I think, at the time, or 12. My kids are young teenagers.”
“It is. So after they had bought a second one, they needed to have some headquarters and they decided that the San Francisco Bay Area and next to this motel. And in fact, just a quick story. This is Burlingame, California. This was not a good neighborhood.”
“Well, you know that often failure teaches you more than success. And so I learned a lot during that. I was very optimistic and remain so about the opportunity to change public policy. But I didn't fully understand the mechanics of running for office and how to put an organization together that would help you win.”
“Well, because they're making money doing a lot of these things, right? I mean, Facebook knows a lot about you, and that's a very beneficial thing for advertisers. And so this is, I don't think they've self-regulated well. And they've also not been proactive.”
