“Well, as I said, Nick, at the age of 18, I took a decision to do something, to try and move Northern Ireland on, to protect the community that I was living in at the time, but also I became involved in politics as well at the age of 18. So when I came of age, if you like, I took two decisions.”

There were two pans, one for myself and one for Gavin Williamson, who was then the government chief whip, and we signed the agreement and both Gavin and I were allowed to keep the pen that signed the agreement. So look, and that's something that I think was the right thing to do at the time.”
