“And I said, you know, I should help this guy. And so I did. We lost the election by 47 votes We were supposed to have no chance to win, and you could kind of feel like the wind, as you know, starting to pick up. And on election night, we were ahead. And the next morning, we were not. But it was so close that there was a recount.”
“Working there, his truck driver. He drives every day back and forth to Detroit with parts, and he said, I'll take a couple days off and come out and talk to folks.”
“You know, because we're in our own little world of China trying to make sure we get our tests done and this and that. And he had a very, very, very deep faith. And what we would always laugh about is I asked him one time, I said, so tell me you're trying to get us all set up to go to the nine o'clock mass on time.”
“Oh, yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. I thought that the president was I thought he was really in a tough spot, though, in this, that the bases is 30, 35%. That's not who America is. America is a place where there's a desire to get things done and not to constantly drive off the cliff on every single issue where much of his base was going.”
