The Strategist

The long view, patient, analytical, playing several moves ahead.

Julie Sweet reads as The Strategist, an assessment consistent with the disciplined thinking she displayed on The David Rubenstein Show. As Accenture chair and chief executive, she leads at a scale where instinct alone fails and only rigorous prioritisation works.

IN THEIR WORDS, WHY STRATEGIST

Time in our history, as we started to see the shift in technology that our clients couldn't see yet begin to impact us, we said we need to double down on diversity because we would not become innovation-led and move from a culture of fast following unless we were more diverse, broadly speaking.

THE EXECUTIVES' EXCHANGE

Said in the second piece is if you're going to convince every plant leader around the country, around the world, you will never get there fast enough, right?

THE EXECUTIVES' EXCHANGE

I think we are building back better. I mean, I look at it all across the depth of the commitment, whether it's on inclusion and diversity or climate change or sustainability broader. There's a huge opportunity and I see it happening. And so one of the things I tell my team is I know our clients want it.

THE EXECUTIVES' EXCHANGE

Help our clients meet their sustainability commitments, and in the IT industry today, four percent of emissions come from IT. It's projected to be 14%. Things aren't changed by 2030. We're also taking on big areas. So 40% of emissions come from buildings.
