Linda McMahon reads as The Disruptor, a leader whose defining brief is to unmake rather than steward the institution she heads. Confirmed as Education Secretary in 2025 with a public mandate from President Trump to shrink and ultimately wind down the Department of Education, she has pursued large-scale workforce reductions and the transfer of functions toward states and other agencies.
