The Strategist

The long view, patient, analytical, playing several moves ahead.

Lindsey Vonn reads as The Strategist because her dominance was engineered, not merely willed. She turned competitive intelligence into leverage, weaponising rivals' fear at the start gate, then carried that same calculus into business, confronting male peers about pay parity and using what she learned to demand equal brand deals.

IN THEIR WORDS, WHY STRATEGIST

I don't know. I think the older I get, the more I realize how important strong female role models are and how big of an impact they can make. People like Malala, how big of a voice she's had. And I met her recently. And it just so inspired by people like that. And you realize how big of an impact one person can make on the world.

THE STORY OF WOMAN

I think I've hopefully changed their mindset. I feel like one thing that people, especially women, have connected with me on is my ability to overcome adversity. I've had so many injuries in my life. I've been divorced. I've had a pretty turbulent personal life as well.

THE STORY OF WOMAN

A lot of kids in general, not just girls, but a lot of children don't get the positive reinforcement. And people actually tell them not that they can do something, but quite the opposite.

THE STORY OF WOMAN

It's so important to have powerful women at every level of business, of sports, because young girls need to look to that and need to say, I can do that too. I look to Billy Dean King when I wanted to raise men. Danica Stornstand, because they did it. They achieved what I wanted to, and it helped push me forward.
