IN THEIR WORDS, WHY DISRUPTOR

I was. I got lost. Recording here. But anyway, I was lost again and I was in a back stairway of the Senate. And I ran into him and he was standing there alone looking at his notes that he was going to withdraw. And I just felt sick.

THE AXE FILES WITH DAVID AXELROD

No, I do not. I do not think it's easy. I think she has given the most amazing job performance of almost anyone I've ever seen in Washington. And I think it's hard. But Hillary openly chafed against that. And so anyway, we had wine and dinner at this revolving restaurant and we talked and she wasn't as guarded then.

THE AXE FILES WITH DAVID AXELROD

We had an old guy who did it too, and he had, what do you call it, like chip cards that you'd put in and you call every suburb in Washington? And so for 20 years he called like Woodbridge, Virginia, and then he'd always say, is anything going on? And they'd always say no.

THE AXE FILES WITH DAVID AXELROD

Oh, I really backed into it. I was, you know, working the night shift, and then they'd let us try and do stories once in a while. And so I was a clerk for two and a half years.
