Russ Shaw CBE
The Convener
The room, the network and the deal, brings the right people together.
Russ Shaw CBE is a near-textbook Convener, a leader whose primary instrument is the network itself. He built Tech London Advocates from a small volunteer collective into a grassroots coalition of thousands of technology leaders, then scaled the model internationally through Global Tech Advocates, spanning multiple regional groups.
“Growing businesses is around the capital required to ensure that these businesses can grow, they can become tech unicorns, they can become significant tech companies. So those are the two key pieces that I look at from a challenge point of view.”
“Financial conduct authority. And I didn't have to speak about them because the two Chinese speakers before me were waxing lyrical about British rule of law, the financial conduct authority, their innovation sandboxes, how they work together with disruptors to figure out what is the best regulation.”
“Meetings together Yes. We try not to forget that this is a community of individuals helping each other, connecting with each other. It's a fabulous network and literally every day in my inbox I'm signposting people. Let's connect you to this person. Let's connect you to that person.”
“Roles and jobs of the future. And coming back to my comment on productivity, I actually think if we were to do this relatively quickly, the return that we'll see from that investment could happen in the near term.”
