“Yeah. Well, it was interesting because having worked in the AG's office eight years prior, like I knew the division of criminal investigation folks. I knew the drug cops and others. And more and more of them, when I was thinking about running, were saying, Issues aren't just math anymore, it's now prescription drugs.”
“Yep. So we lost that. And then Montana, meaning that Citizens United Station came down. And I was sued on the Krupper Acts Act of 1912. Every other state said, game over, we actually build a factual record. Citizens United had no factual record.”
“Yeah, their first trip was post college when they moved to Montana. Uh huh. And you grew up in Helena, as I mentioned, delivered newspapers to the governor's mansion. Yeah, so it's a little different in Montana than it is in some other states.”
“Now, I think that's right, and I think it's unfortunate. But then at least begin with the premise, and Citizens United said, well, we can do all this because with the advent of the Internet and everything, at least there's complete transparency, meaning that people will know who's trying to influence elections.”
