“Mr. Speaker, my colleague across the aisle mentioned the former leader of the Progressive Conservative Party, Mr. Joe Clark. I actually have interactions with a former Liberal minister, Mr. Dan McTeague, who said that he did not leave the Liberal Party but that the Liberal Party left him. I think there is some give and take here.”
“Mr. Speaker, I am sorry I missed my root canal today. I want to talk about my colleague across the aisle's saying that he has recognized the economy. The Liberal Party has failed Canadian people for far too long. The Liberals had this opportunity 10 years ago, but they are just recognizing it now.”
“I feel like we have done a great disservice to Canadians and to veterans, who just want some basic, simple things like care, and we are failing in our duty to support them. I witness that every single day, whether they are reservists or full-time veterans.”
“That is the whole point of having an independent military review board, to recognize the bravery and the sacrifice of our Canadian soldiers. Not only is this important to my family, but it is important to my riding.”
“Our sacrifices made overseas are something Europeans witness every single day. It is hard for Canadians to reconcile that. That is why we have to make that extra effort within the House of Commons to recognize those who have advocated on our behalf and made that sacrifice.”
“Madam Speaker, I am thankful for the opportunity to speak to this motion. It is a very important subject, not only to my riding but to me personally, and I would like to share the reason.”

“The Liberals have continued their disastrous record of making Canadians poorer and food more expensive. Canada's core inflation for August came in at 50% higher than the Bank of Canada's target as the deficit balloons the cost of living. It does not stop there. Food inflation came in at three-quarter per cent this year over last year, which is 70% over the Bank of Canada's target. As a result, food banks gave Canada and the Liberal government a D on poverty and food insecurity. The Prime Minister 's spending and deficit today are not as bad as Justin Trudeau's. No, they are worse. Today's PBO report made that abundantly clear. All of his extra spending on bureaucratic administration and high-priced consultants is costing Canadians higher debt and taxes, and more inflation.”
“I would like to thank my campaign team, who helped me cover this vast territory: Scott Pettigrew, Kyle Lillie and Avery Boechler, who showed up every single day and may have missed a couple of classes at high school, but do not tell his mom. I also thank Barb and Mick LeBoldus, Ken Schwalm, Karen Vishloff and numerous others who door-knocked, put up signs and went from community to community, door to door, knocking and putting on events. I also want to thank my two beautiful daughters Saoirse and Eilidh, who are ages 13 and 10, and who are asking good questions about democracy, sacrifice, why Daddy does what he does and why he represents the people of Moose Jaw—Lake Centre—Lanigan. I know they do not like me saying “Daddy” anymore at that age, so I have to start using “Dad”.”
“Mr. Speaker, I will be splitting my time. I am thankful to be speaking today on what is a very important issue to the people of the riding of Moose Jaw—Lake Centre—Lanigan: Canadians would judge the Prime Minister by the cost at the grocery store. Before I continue, this is the first opportunity I have had to speak in the House, and I would like to thank the people of Moose Jaw—Lake Centre—Lanigan for their confidence in sending me back to Ottawa to be their voice. The riding of Moose Jaw—Lake Centre—Lanigan is five square kilometres bigger than Switzerland. It may have better chocolate, but we have better cows, better hockey players and better maple syrup.”
“Madam Speaker, today we learned that Canada's unemployment rate has risen to 7%, the highest in a decade outside the pandemic. For students, this number is even higher, at over 21%. Canada's youth are eager to start their career paths but are facing obstacles at every step. They want to have independence and not be a burden to their parents. For 10 years, the Liberals have been at the helm of our economy, and things have only gone downhill. The Liberals have created this unemployment crisis. Do they have a real plan to fix it?”
“Mr. Speaker, I too was a municipal politician, and the recent concern I heard from municipalities, universities, schools and hospitals was that the carbon tax was being downloaded onto organizations and that the federal government never gave them back their returns. Members always talked about how eight out of 10 families were getting more money back, but these organizations were being overlooked. Will the federal government commit to returning the carbon tax funds that have been taken from these organizations?”
