“Mr. Speaker, I have had the opportunity to visit two of the synagogues that were attacked last week. It is deeply heartbreaking to see that their sense of security has been breached. As a government, we are taking decisive action, including $10 million that was just announced to ensure the coordination of security efforts in places of worship as well as other community centres within the Jewish community. However, that is not enough. We also have legislation in front of the House, Bill C-9 , which the Jewish community has been asking for us to pass. I urge the party opposite to pass it forthwith.”

If we look at the numbers, we see that asylum is down by one-third, the number of temporary foreign workers is down by 50%, and the number of international students is reduced by 60%. We are taking control of our immigration system. As of last year, 2025, we have removed 22,000 individuals who are ineligible to be in Canada. This is work that we are doing, and we will ensure that Canada remains an open and free society for immigrants and refugees.”

First and foremost, we have a system through the Immigration and Refugee Board whereby every single file is assessed for its merits and its compliance with the refugee convention of 1951. The assertions made by the opposition are absolutely false.”

The IRB adjudicates and ensures that those who are inadmissible and those who are ineligible to seek asylum do not go forward, and that those who are deemed to be clear refugees do get asylum.”

“Mr. Speaker, the rise in extortion in Surrey and the Lower Mainland is unacceptable, and I extend my support to the victims of extortion everywhere. This morning, I met with Premier Eby and we committed to deploying up to 20 RCMP members to support law enforcement efforts. We deployed two helicopters in the Surrey area, and in November we announced $4 million in federal funding to bolster the Surrey police's efforts to tackle extortion threats. There are bills before the House that the opposition can support right now, like the one on lawful access, to help us combat extortion in Canada.”
“Mr. Speaker, at the outset, let me thank and congratulate the members of the RCMP for their work in the arrest of Ryan Wedding in collaboration with the FBI. Ryan Wedding was the number one wanted person in the United States, and this is the type of collaboration that law enforcement in Canada, working with the United States, can achieve. To the member's question, we have six bills in front of the House that deal with public safety. The obstruction of the Conservative Party in passing not a single one of them is atrocious. I invite the member opposite to pass these bills today.”

“Mr. Speaker, let me be very clear: We will be moving forward with the national program to ensure that the gun owners who are lawful gun owners are able to get compensation for prohibited weapons, the 2,500 types of weapons we prohibited under the Firearms Act. We will be compensating them. My question to the opposition members is this: Why do they continuously go against law enforcement? For example, on lawful access, why do they continuously vote against and stall legislation that would help the people of Canada?”
