Our committee fulfilled our constitutional duty when we reported the National Defense Authorization Act to the floor today. As our chairman indicated, we are delivering on President Trump's request to authorize the first of two defense appropriations, including this authorization of $1.15 trillion. While there is much to be made about the generational investments in ships and aviation, this bill also fully supports the sustainment of the defense enterprise.”

Approving this framework gets us into the game. Yes, there are concerns about how we achieve the spending cuts and reduce the deficit.”
