I watched what they went through, and I never really thought about it until my wife and I had children. Then, I looked at that boy, and I said, you know what? In our society, we celebrate life, and we grieve death. How did we get these two things mixed up that we could actually reverse it and say that somehow allowing the abortion of a new little girl or a new little boy makes our lives easier? It ends their life, but it makes our lives easier. That is absolutely the most upside-down thinking. I don't know who wired you folks, but you ought to get to somebody as soon as you can to get it unwired.”

If you are willing to sit back and watch this happen and say, well, that issue, I can actually understand that because that is actually up to the mother to decide whether that child should be born. By the same token, I have a piece of legislation that I want to pass that will go after people who do these ungodly things and destroy life. I am trying to figure out, in the people's House, in the United States of America, the greatest defender of life, liberty, and freedom the world has ever known, is this a serious debate? Is this something we are trying to figure out, this whole issue?”

“Listen, the Dobbs decision was a great decision, but all it did was take the abortion law out of the hands of the Federal Government and return it to the States and say, you know what, this is truly a Pontius Pilate moment. They washed their hands of it and said, you know what, not my decision. You all make the decision. We are walking away from it. I have watched Chris Smith since I got here in 2011. The one constant that I know when I talk to Chris Smith is that it is going to be a life issue, an issue that involves the unborn and their right to life.”

Take that life away, because you know what, it isn't worth it. It isn't worth it. Yet, again, there will be some headline about a horrible loss of life of some innocent person, and I hear about it all the time. How can we have this outrageous activity taking place where people think that they need to go into a grade school and shoot children, and we just abhor that. We abhor that. Yet, we want to have legislation that allows the elimination of the next generation. Somehow, in my mind, I am trying to figure out what the heck happened.”

Now, if they are running for a political office and they think that somehow there is a political gain to looking at legislation that would allow the elimination, through abortion, of our future generation, oh, we would rail about what we have to do in protecting women's rights and how horrible it is. Then we will turn around, and we will go out and buy birthday cards, and we will celebrate birthdays. For those of us who have big families, the biggest birthday we celebrate is for our children. Then we have all of these wonderful events, and we just celebrate them.”

These children represent 25 percent of our population, but 100 percent of our future. Yet, the debate goes on. Who has the right to life?”

How could anybody think that by taking the lives of innocent people, you would be making a statement to the rest of the world that was important. My wife and I have been blessed with four children. She is one of nine. I am one of five. I am always fascinated by people who talk about healthcare because we have got to do something about saving lives in this country. We are the wealthiest country in the world. Why can't we spend more money on healthcare? Why can't we extend life for people? Why can't we find cures? Why can't we do things like this?”

How could anybody plan an attack on the United States of America by using people who were flying to a destination in an airplane? They were totally innocent people who were maybe going to their job, maybe going back home, maybe going to celebrate something else, but the loss of life that day. We talk about the loss of life that day. What happened in New York? What happened in our Pentagon? What happened in the open fields of Pennsylvania? The reference is always to the loss of life, and we stop, and we pray.”
