“Mr. Speaker, I rise today in strong support of the Water Resources Development Act. In north Jersey, flooding is not some distant threat. “We must be proactive and give our communities the tools to protect themselves before the next storm comes. As a first-term member of the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee, I have pursued commonsense solutions. This bipartisan bill presents exactly that by moving long-delayed flood protection projects forward across Bergen and Passaic Counties. I am especially proud that this includes my bipartisan CLEAN-UP Act to help the Army Corps cut through obstacles that have held up critical work for years. People have waited long enough. Mr. Speaker, I urge my colleagues to pass the bill now, before the next flood comes. ____________________”
