In Tennessee specifically, President Trump's tariffs and economic policies have brought about millions of dollars in new investment and countless new jobs. Cra-Z-Art is moving manufacturing equipment from Asia back to the United States to expand operations in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Charms, the maker of Blow Pops and other candy, has planned a nearly $100 million expansion of its Covington, Tennessee, plant.”

There are many, many wins I could point to. Just last month, 228,000 new jobs were added to the U.S. economy. Prices fell for the first time since May 2020. The Border Patrol reported a 94 percent drop in illegal immigrant encounters at our southern border compared to the same month last year under Joe Biden. It is noteworthy, Mr. Speaker, that the only thing the President needed to accomplish this was leadership. We heard the last administration claim time and time again that Congress would need to pass legislation to secure the border.”

After 4 years of deficit spending, we are grateful to have a Chief Executive who is willing to cut waste, fraud, and abuse on behalf of the American taxpayer. Indeed, what we have witnessed over the last 100 days is a real master class in the art of following through. Unfortunately, it isn't uncommon. In fact, many Americans can recall using overdraft services and them being a lifeline at one point or another in their lives. This is just one of many examples of overreach by the last administration, and it must be overturned. In America, we celebrate capitalism. We encourage competition. We don't smother our financial institutions just for political favor. Mr.”

Mr. Speaker, it is no secret that the sky was the limit when it came to regulations for the last administration. Our Nation endured 4 years of costly new rules, rules that continue to wreak havoc on our economy and stunt economic growth. Indeed, it is going to take some time to undo the mess from the last White House. S.J. Res. 18 puts us one step closer to cleaning up this mess. It calls the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's overdraft rule what it is: drastic, punitive, and harmful to banks and credit unions. It also stands to harm the very people it purports to protect. Mr.”

I am confident that the man or woman who is in my shoes 100 years from now will feel compelled to do the same. Congratulating the Upperman Bees Mr. ROSE. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to congratulate the Upperman High School boys' basketball team on securing the first State championship in program history last month. The historic matchup was a nail-biter as the game was tied up for much of the night. Nonetheless, it ended with the Upperman Bees defeating the Tullahoma Wildcats 65-55. This TSSAA Division 1 Class 3A BlueCross basketball championship win at Middle Tennessee State University puts their team at 32-3 on the season.”

The lights that look like stars above you and the acoustics around you make for an unforgettable evening. No matter how many chances I get to see a show in person, I always sense the history, the importance, and the joy that the Grand Ole Opry represents.”

“Nashville is known around the world as Music City, USA. That would not be the case had it not been for the Opry. The longtime show isn't exclusive to Tennessee's story. No, it is part of American culture. The Opry was around before the Great Depression and World War II. It has seen a lot, endured a lot, and served as a beacon of hope decade after decade. The program's venue has moved within Nashville a few times, but it is primarily known for two locations. They are the Ryman Auditorium off Broadway, downtown, and its current location on Opry Mills Drive. Both locations enjoy hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. Without the Grand Ole Opry, we would likely not know names like Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, or Willie Nelson. Heaven forbid, we might not even know Dolly Parton, had it not been for the show.”

Last Monday marked 500 days since Hamas terrorists perpetrated the unprovoked and truly evil attack. It was the deadliest assault on Israel and the Jewish community since the Holocaust.”
