“Drop back 50 or 60 years Early 1960s, I come into the investment management business. There were no courses at the Harvard Business School on investment management. One other guy went to Wall Street Family Why in the hell did I go to the investment management business? It was an accident. I was interviewing one of the smartest men I'd ever met, very obviously a substantially competent person, and found out during the first half hour of the interview that he was talking not about the Rockefeller Foundation, but the Rockefeller families investment office. And by that time, I was absolutely sure if I could figure out what he was doing. I sure as the Dickens could learn a lot by working for him. Next half an hour, I learned a lot about investment management as they were seeing it in those days.”
