  1. Show to enough people. It's a small but growing platform that seems much more sustainable than the usual creator economy startup ideas that get pitched. But its growth means that Dave now manages 80 people between the two companies, including app engineers, salespeople, production people like motion graphic designers and composers, and more. And at the end of the day, it's all mostly owned by the creators themselves. So even if it all gets sold, those creators will get some of the profits. What really stood out to me in this conversation is that Dave's in the business of making things. This conversation was really grounded in the reality of the creator business as it exists today and how that real business can support real people. You'll hear it when we talk about Web3 and NFTs and all that stuff. Dave thinks it's bullshit and he says so because it's not a business that he can depend on now. Standard represents 160 creators. The company helps book sponsorship, it provides production support, they do merch deals, and most importantly, Dave can negotiate directly with YouTube on behalf of all 160 people. If there are ever any problems. On the other side, those same creators can post their videos to Nebula, which as a paid service has very different economics than YouTube. It allows them to make videos for their subscribers that YouTube either wouldn't monetize or
