1. “Okay, great question. So there is some connective tissue behind that that links these two books. So I contain multitudes was about the microbes that share our bodies and our lives that we don't see. We don't perceive and yet have a huge influence on us. An immense world is about the extraordinary ways in which animals sense the world around them and the cues, the stimuli, the information that they're picking up that we can't perceive both of these books are about hidden worlds in their own ways. They're about sides of reality that we aren't tapping into and that when we start to understand a bit more, we learn that the world is in fact richer and deeper and just weirder than we had previously realized. So that's kind of a running theme in a lot of my work. It's an idea that I like exploring in a lot of different ways.”
