“Right. I'm not one of those people that run for office with a rags to riches story. I'm somebody who you'd say, boy, you would have really had to screw up with parents like that because they were, you know, I mean, they have a great story. They met on the train to the University of Michigan in their freshman year, started going out their first day, married on graduation day. And I had two parents who were the types of people that just were fighters for economic justice, for racial justice. My dad was a lawyer. And we watched him not only, you know, run the local ACLU or be the vice president of it, but we watched him win major civil rights victories. He won the first case to allow girls to have a constitutional right to play on boys' high school sports.”
