2. “Exactly growth. That's exactly right. So I did a math degree at Oxford, which was more pure math. And then I was looking for something more applied You know, pure math can be very theoretical and detached from the real world. And it's getting worse, it gets further and further away, the deeper you go. And so I wanted to move into something useful. Mathematical epidemiology is a study of disease spread through modeling. How do you understanding the spread? How do you treat the spread? When do you treat the spread, things like vaccination programs, and it's all the mathematics around that. So it was very relevant then and even more relevant recently with all of the infectious diseases we've been seeing.”
