“Get a picture of Absolutely, absolutely. After I exercise, I really don't know what I'm going to do, but I know I'm either going to do some writing or I'm going to see what's on the news with this 13 inch color TV I have. And then around 11 o'clock, I usually have phone time and I spend, you know, an hour, hour and a half on the phone. Then around 1 o'clock, I know we're going to have showers and we do the shower thing. And around 2, I started writing. I may go up to about four or five o'clock. “I started realizing that, you know, when people say, I'm going to go to the refrigerator and I'm going to go find something neat. I'm on the phone out here say this. I instantly know when that refrigerator opens, there's a certain freedom. That person doesn't see. And I take heart to that. I don't say a lot about it, but I realize, boom, right there. “I started reading about masculinity and what a man was and I started noticing things that were signs that was like whoa and one of those first stories I wrote was scars where I was just I just seen the scars of people out there on the yard and that was an awakening for me I mean that was a life-changing experience because I realized I was able to see things and write about them When you first get published in a story, it seems like it's just fuel. And they create a narrative that was some kind of 80-page whatever thing they did, you know, trying to trace my background and who I was and parents and all that. And I didn't like it. “I think what shaped my worldview is really how I was treated by how my parents were treated. I always thought as a kid they were not being treated well. I always thought she was sick and they didn't do anything for her and I always felt like there was something that was against me. But I was always safe by someone caring for me. And I guess they suppose that I would want to go somewhere, you know. And my answer was, you know, I just want to be outside at night. I want to know what night feels like, you know.
