She was a good little girl and all of the things. And it was just like the title of our book, a shit sandwich. And so I called my mother after this and I told her, because my mother would always say, Jennifer, she's in her Dallas accent. She'd say, Jennifer, I think Angie's just darling, but as you all age, she'll become more religious. And I'm sure that you're, you know, go a separate way. So I told my mother that Angie had been in the process unbeknownst to me of deconstructing her faith with her psychotherapist. And my mother was so great. She said, Jennifer, you need to be really supportive because there's a lot of grief involved in this. Like she's grieving. It's like a death.”
