“Well, it was during the Vietnam War era, and so You know, it felt like a whole separate. Culture that we were living in from the rest of the country. Our dads were being assigned over. In my father's case, he didn't serve in Vietnam. He was an intelligence officer, however in Thailand. We moved a lot. There was a certain, again, kind of culture of our own. And, you know, you would run into kids like in second grade on one base, and then you'd run into some of the same kids in fifth and sixth and seventh grade and some other base.”
