1. “Allow me to extend my congratulations to Mr. Srgjan Kerim on his election to the high office of President of the General Assembly at its sixty-second session. I would also like to recognize Sheikha Haya Rashed Al-Khalifa of Bahrain for her distinguished service as President of the Assembly at its sixty-first session. Please allow me also to extend my appreciation to the Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, for his strong commitment and unceasing efforts in addressing issues of peace and security in many parts of the world where many conflicts and tensions remain unresolved. I wish to assure him of my Government’s constructive support and its wholehearted commitment to peace and security in our region.”
