Except for those concerning 1960, one can hardly find in the records of the United Nations an event of the kind we witnessed last week; namely, the simultaneous admission to membership of seven additional States. It confirms without doubt the universal vocation of our Organisation or, more precisely, that singular openness which enables the United Nations to be in tune with what is going on in the world.”
