In this regard we welcome the established an open-ended ad hoc intergovernmental committee of experts, representative of all regions, to elaborate a comprehensive international convention on countering the use of information and communications technologies for criminal purposes, taking into full consideration existing international instruments and efforts at the national, regional and international levels on combating the use of information and communications technologies for criminal purposes, foreseen by resolution 74/247 adopted by the General Assembly on 27 December 2019.”

4. “We express our gratitude to the Estonian Chairmanship for organizing and conducting the debate entitled “Maintenance of international peace and security: cybersecurity”. In conditions of global threats, ensuring security requires the coordination of the international community and the settlement of many aspects of a political and economic nature. In this context, it should be noted that a new and at the same time complicated component has appeared in the world – cybersecurity. It should be clear that information and communications technologies having enormous potential for the development of States. At the same time, they create new opportunities for perpetrators and may contribute to a rise in the levels and complexity of crime, the potential risk of the misuse of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.”
