4. “Mr. Al-Muraikhi (Qatar) (spoke in Arabic): At the outset, we congratulate Albania for presiding over the Security Council during the month of September, and we thank you, Mr. President, for holding this important meeting on the maintenance of peace and security in Ukraine, pursuant to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and through effective multilateralism. I am pleased to deliver this statement on behalf of the State of Qatar. The State of Qatar is committed to the peaceful settlement of differences and disputes everywhere. We regret that the war in Ukraine has continued for more than 18 months. We are particularly concerned about the humanitarian consequences of that war on unarmed civilians.”
