  24. “Most recently, the non-governmental organization Peace Now reported that the Israel Land Authority had announced the opening of tenders for more than 1,200 new structures in the Givat Hamatos settlement. The construction and expansion of settlements are not only grave violations of international law and numerous relevant General Assembly and Security Council resolutions, including resolution 2334 (2016), but are also a direct violation of Article 49 of the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention.   30. “A shortage of funds will end life-saving humanitarian assistance. Yemen cannot afford this. In that regard, we also recall the parties’ obligations under international law that demand the unhindered passage of humanitarian aid. Moreover, there is a moral onus on all parties to ensure that all persons in need are able to access such aid. The threat of famine is real, but it need not be inevitable. Under-Secretary- General Lowcock has consistently reiterated the various pillars of the solution that made it possible to avert famine in 2018, including funding and support for the economy, and he has emphasized that these remain relevant. Notwithstanding this, we are approaching a dangerous precipice, and it will be unforgivable if critical action is not taken to save the people of Yemen.”

  47. “We continue to support the critically important mandate of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and continue to emphasize that it bears a tremendous responsibility and must therefore take measures to ensure that its views and activities are impartial, independent and free from politicization. We have taken note of the 9 July Executive Council decision and the 14 October report regarding the implementation of that decision. We look forward to a substantive discussion on that issue at the CWC’s Conference of the States Parties.
