  6. “Mr. Llosa (Peru) (spoke in Spanish) : I would first like to thank Ghana, in its capacity as President of the Security Council, for inviting us here and taking the initiative to convene today’s open debate, which is an opportunity for us to examine together the need to integrate the aspect of resilience into peace operations in order to achieve sustainable peace. The traditional practices of peace operations are being enhanced by taking into account the need to structure approaches to ensuring resilience in areas previously affected by conflict. It is therefore essential to build trusting relations between the personnel of peace missions and key local actors, such as the national authorities, the private and productive sectors and local and grass-roots movements, such as those led by women and young people.”
