4. “Allow me, Mr. President, to extend my deep appreciation to you for convening chese meetings of the Security Council in respect of the horrific situation in my country. Allow me also to express my gratitude to the Contact Group of the Organization of the Islamic Conference for its role in bringing about these meetings. Finally I wish to express my deep appreciation to all delegations, from that of Afghanistan to that of Zimbabwe, that have spoken in our support at these meetings.
