It is my understanding that the Council is ready to proceed to the vote on the draft resolution before it. I shall put the draft resolution to the vote now. A vote was taken by Show ofhands.”

3. “In accordance with rule 37 of the Council's provisional rules of procedure, I invite the representatives of Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, Georgia, Greece Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Sweden and the United Republic of Tanzania to participate in this meeting. I wish to remind all speakers to limit their statements to no more than four minutes in order to enable the Council to carry out its work expeditiously. Delegations with lengthy statements are kindly requested to circulate the texts in writing and to deliver a condensed version when speaking in the Chamber. I now give the floor to the representative of Turkey.”
