“Yes, I think he definitely wants to say that this is, you know, they're being encouraged to come here. I mean, the whole thing, the fact that he wants to and has taken away funding for the countries that these people are fleeing from, fleeing for their lives, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala. And these are countries where he supports the dictators that are responsible and the chaos that's going on there. And then he slowed down the whole process. In some ways, he threatened to shut down the border, said he'd be for a year. But now it's so slowed down that people are sleeping under bridges, waiting to get across. So in some ways he's accomplishing his goal of slowing down. And I get that, you know, there's a humanitarian... Crisis there, but I think we have an orderly process at the border. This is unnecessary.”

“Where refugees, immigrants were part of the American story, and at least at that time it really was possible to work hard and have a good life. And there wasn't this kind of that I don't think that my parents and their families ever felt this kind of sense of terrible discrimination and hatred and you can't come here in America's full.
