“Many of them do. And that's right. We don't expect it to happen to us or our family members. And then in so many cases it does. I remember in January 2011 getting this call from Gabby's chief of staff to tell me that Gabby, and I just gotten off the phone with my wife. And then she told me that Gabby's been shot and, you know, we don't think it's going to be just the way at least my as an optimist, you know, my mind works is, okay, she was probably shot in the arm. Hung up from that call, get a call back, you know, about 10 minutes later where she tells me she's been shot in the head. And at that point, I knew our lives were going to be dramatically different and changed forever and on the airplane ride out there, media essentially pronounced her dead for about 30 minutes. I remember I knew that this, you know, Gabby's life.”
