“A huge relief, obviously, yet tomorrow we will be voting on a resolution that focuses on the deteriorating situation of political prisoners in Belarus and, in particular, the case of Aliaksandra Pulinovich, who was arrested by Lukashenka's regime when she was just 16 years old and was subsequently sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment. This reminds us that highly transactional deals with dictators can on occasion bring temporary relief to individual prisoners, but they can hardly be expected to produce the long‑term positive change that is needed to improve the lot of the oppressed people. “Madam President, EUR 77 million. This is what the public data shows that the European Commission gave between 2021 and 2027 to Nicaragua. EUR 77 million under the pretext of, and I quote, 'adapting to climate change'. But there was no speaker here that praised what is happening in Nicaragua. In other words, we are funding a dictator – a person who is jailing political opponents, pushing hundreds of clergy out of the country and killing people. We need to wake up. We cannot do both; we cannot finance a tyrannical regime like the one in Nicaragua and, meanwhile, give nice speeches here in Strasbourg claiming the abuses that are taking place in Nicaragua. We need to act tough. At the beginning of this year, the US demanded that the Nicaraguan government release prisoners and they did. This is why we must act tough!”

Unu: Raportul tratează familia naturală mai mult ca o problemă economică decât o instituție fundamentală a societății. Accentul este pus exclusiv pe integrarea pe piața muncii și redistribuirea responsabilităților, în loc să susțină rolul familiei și libertatea părinților de a decide cum să își organizeze viața. Doi: Raportul încurajează dependența de structuri publice în detrimentul responsabilității familiale și comunitare. “Mr President, dear Commissioner, you talked about the hantavirus vaccine, which will require another set of contracts. But when will you publish the unredacted contracts signed by Ursula von der Leyen with Pfizer and Moderna? Those contracts led to the purchase of billions of so-called COVID-19 vaccine doses, more than ten doses per person in Europe. The European Parliament demanded the full disclosure of these contracts and the Commission failed to do so yet. In this plenary, Ursula von der Leyen said that the anti-COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective. She lied. Pfizer's representative admitted here that the company never tested if their vaccine is stopping the transmission of the virus because they had to move at the speed of science. That's what they said.”

“Madam President, dear Commissioner, it appears from your statement that, because some recruitment of children by organised crime happens online, the European Commission now sees this as an opportunity to expand mass surveillance and political control over the internet. The causes of this tragedy are far deeper: many vulnerable children seek in gangs the identity, protection and respect they could not find in their broken families, often growing up without a father or a mother. Schools increasingly replacing education with ideological indoctrination or hyper-sexualization are leaving children emotionally vulnerable and easier to be manipulated by predators and criminal networks. Entire neighbourhoods have been lawless because authorities fail to enforce the law.”

“Domnule președinte, stimată doamnă comisar, dezbaterea pe care ați ascultat-o aici, la care ați asistat, cred că demonstrează pericolul pe care genul acesta de narativ promovat de către Comisia Europeană îl are în primul rând față de femei. Și când spun femei, mă refer la femeile biologice, nu la bărbații care se pretind femei. În momentul când am ridicat și am pus câteva întrebări reprezentanților de pe stânga eșichierului politic, au spus că vorbim despre egalitate. Nu mai contează dacă între bărbați și femei. Ba da, contează, pentru că titlul acestei dezbateri este despre addressing the gender care gap. Deci există un gap, o diferență între două entități, între două grupuri, în cazul de față între bărbați și femei.”
“Al treilea lucru: fondurile UE se dau pentru proiecte efectiv irelevante. Ajungem să susținem finanțări cum ar fi pentru gender equality, în care bărbații care se pretind femei ar fi femei. “Cercetarea în domeniul oțelului nu este o cheltuială, ci o investiție în puterea economică și strategică a Europei. Nu susțin însă direcția ideologică din raport cu privire la Green Deal și tranziția energetică forțată, care afectează deja negativ industria, locurile de muncă și securitatea energetică europeană. Dat fiind faptul că nu este suficientă, Europa are nevoie de adiție de energie, nu de o tranziție energetică care îi reduce capacitatea din prezent de a produce energie înainte de a construi alternative viabile. 2-0587-0000”
“Domnule președinte, am votat în favoarea acestui raport deoarece consider că fondul de cercetare pentru cărbune și oțel poate sprijini competitivitatea industriei siderurgice europene, inovarea și implicarea IMM-urilor, universităților și sectorului industrial în proiecte concrete de cercetare. Acest fond este unul dintre puținele instrumente europene care susțin direct dezvoltarea tehnologiilor industriale, modernizarea producției și menținerea locurilor de muncă pentru ca Europa să producă oțel competitiv aici, nu să-l importe din afara UE. Într-o lume în care China și alte puteri investesc masiv în industrie și tehnologii avansate, Europa nu își poate permite să abandoneze cercetarea din siderurgie. Nu există autonomie strategică fără industria europeană, iar fără cercetare și inovare vom deveni dependenți de actori externi.”

“Dacă vrem cu adevărat să salvăm industria siderurgică europeană, trebuie să renunțăm la slogane și la suprareglementare. Pentru a fi din nou competitivă, Europa are nevoie de dereglementare, de prețuri mici la energie și de măsuri comerciale care să reinstituie libertatea economică. Realitatea economică nu se schimbă în bine prin cuvinte frumoase și slogane, ci prin decizii care dau șansa mediului privat să genereze prosperitate.”
“Domnule președinte, am votat în favoarea acestui raport deoarece protejarea industriei europene a oțelului este esențială pentru economia și securitatea Uniunii Europene. Europa trebuie să își apere industria strategică, să reducă dependențele externe și să asigure un viitor competitiv pentru producția europeană de oțel și pentru locurile de muncă din această industrie. Pentru a reuși însă, Europa trebuie să renunțe la abordarea ideologică care-i sufocă propria industrie. Politicile de decarbonizare forțată au dus la creșterea explozivă a prețurilor la energie și gaze, făcând producția de oțel în Europa din ce în ce mai scumpă și mai puțin competitivă. S-a vorbit despre oțel verde. Nu există oțel verde sau energie verde în sens ideologic, există oțel de calitate și energie accesibilă și fiabilă.”
“A crede că lumea va copia modelul european într-un domeniu unde Europa nu conduce, înseamnă a te îmbăta cu propria propagandă autolaudativă. Am văzut deja acest experiment cu Pactul Verde. Câte țări din lume au preluat acest model economic sinucigaș impus de von der Leyen în Europa? Dacă transformăm inteligența artificială într-un nou labirint birocratic, Europa nu va produce viitorul, îl vor importa de la alții. “Domnule președinte, stimați colegi, acest raport vorbește despre competitivitate și autonomie strategică în domeniul inteligenței artificiale, dar propune exact rețeta care a slăbit Europa: mai multă birocrație, mai mult control și mai multă intervenție a statului. Europa nu poate câștiga cursa globală a inteligenței artificiale sufocându-și propriile companii cu și mai multe reglementări. Adevărata suveranitate tehnologică nu se obține prin rezoluții și strategii pe hârtie, ci prin investiții, energie accesibilă și ieftină, libertate economică și susținerea capitalului european. Nu poți inova prin reglementări. Arătați-mi un singur produs inovativ creat de Comisia Europeană sau de Parlamentul European. Raportul vorbește și despre promovarea modelului european de guvernanță IA într-un standard global.”

“Madam President, dear colleagues, the latest US decision to reduce military development and deployments in Europe, including the cancelled troop rotation to Poland and Romania, should be viewed as an opportunity, not a crisis. Since the Obama years, Washington has signalled its strategic shift away from Europe, yet most European countries fail to strengthen their own defence. It was President Trump's first term that finally forced Europe to take defence seriously and move towards higher spending commitments. While Poland and other countries on the eastern flank have dramatically increased their military capabilities and budgets, too many Western European countries continue to underinvest and delay meaningful defence action. We must stay committed to NATO and the transatlantic alliance.”

“When it comes to Central Asia, I totally agree with you that we need to work with them to also have the diversification of trade routes. I think everybody has learned from this not to put all eggs in one basket, and we have a Central Asia ministerial that we are actually currently organising. “We are using the tools in our toolbox as an economic power to influence things. We are in constant contact with the Gulf countries, with the regional partners, also Pakistan, which is part of these discussions, to see how we can contribute. When it comes to Iran, we have the expertise in negotiating the nuclear issue, for example. We have the experts, we have also offered these experts to negotiate on the nuclear issue – and not only the nuclear issue, we also have other issues that concern Iran. You mentioned the difficult situation of the people in Iran. We have seen executions going up since 2024. It is 68 %, actually, the increase in executions. “Domnule președinte, doamnă comisar, proiectul european nu a fost conceput ca un proiect ideologic, ci ca unul economic, construit în jurul cărbunelui și oțelului, resursă esențială pentru reconstrucția și securitatea Europei postbelice. Punerea acestor resurse în comun, sub autoritate supranațională, a creat baza prosperității europene și a menținut pacea pe continent timp de peste 80 de ani. Din păcate însă, Comisia Europeană, sub Ursula von der Leyen, subminează astăzi chiar fundația acestui proiect. Sub pretextul unor politici verzi, Bruxelles-ul împinge Europa spre dezindustrializare, creșterea costurilor energiei și sărăcirea cetățenilor europeni, promovând iluzia că astfel salvăm planeta. Nu doar că așa planeta sau Europa nu sunt salvate, dar Europa își pierde competitivitatea, locurile de muncă și independența strategică.”

We heard today being said that we need, and I quote, 'green steel'. What does that mean? In order to produce green steel, are we going to need 'green heat' or 'green coal'? How are you going to produce this green steel? Someone from the S&D just said, and I quote, 'We need a definition for low-carbon steel'. So instead of resolving the problem, we run into another debate about definitions. In 1946, after the Second World War, the Western world produced 26 % of the steel. In 2025, the European Union – with more countries – is producing 6.8 % of the world's steel.”
“UE a fost și trebuie să rămână o uniune de state suverane care cooperează. Aceasta nu presupune renunțarea la suveranitate, ci exercitarea de către statele membre în comun, de comun acord, prin instituțiile europene, a unor atribuții precise. Rolul instituțiilor europene nu este să înlocuiască ori să se substituie statelor, ci să fie în slujba lor. Or, ceea ce CJUE subminează în momentul de față este însăși fundația Uniunii Europene și suveranitatea statelor membre. Curtea trebuie să aplice tratatele, nu să le rescrie prin jurisprudență activistă.”
“Domnule președinte, am votat împotriva raportului privind descărcarea de gestiune a Curții de Justiție a Uniunii Europene, deoarece problema acestei instituții nu este doar una bugetară, ci una care distruge UE. În primul rând, Curtea de Justiție a extins competențele instituțiilor UE dincolo de ceea ce este prevăzut în tratate. În al doilea rând, pe cale jurisprudențială, CJUE a ajuns să submineze principiul supremației constituției statelor membre pe teritoriul lor, pretinzând că prioritatea dreptului european față de legea națională, un principiu agreat și explicit, ar însemna și supremația dreptului UE în fața constituțiilor. A admite un asemenea principiu înseamnă a federaliza Uniunea Europeană pe cale jurisprudențială, un lucru pe care cetățenii europeni nu l-au votat sau pentru care nu au agreat niciodată.”
