4. “Venezuela reaffirms the sovereign right of the Islamic Republic of Iran and other developing countries to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes in accordance with article IV of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. We believe that the most important task in the next stage of negotiations between the P5+1 and Iran is to build on the positive momentum and to not give way to the provocations of other actors and extremist views, but rather to concentrate instead on trying to resolve the differences on the basis of dialogue and negotiations that will lead to the lifting once and for all of the sanctions regime imposed on the Islamic Republic of Iran. We also welcome the fact that the Committee's report indicates that there were no new incidents reported during the period under consideration.”

10. “We would like to acknowledge and commend the contribution made by the troop-contributing countries to MINUSTAH and that made by all countries that have contributed to the strengthening of the Haitian National Police. However, efforts to consolidate the rule of law in the country and its institutions must continue. The drafting of the penal code, the strengthening of the principal oversight institutions in the country, such as the Superior Council of the Judiciary, progress in the legislative reform process and the progress made in the training of the Haitian National Police, as well as the convening of eletions, inter alia, are positive indicators with respect to the preservation of the political and social integrity of Haiti.”

We condemn the deliberate attacks carried out against civilians and humanitarian personnel, as well as the terrorist acts in Syria, regardless of the perpetrators. All humanitarian assistance must be coordinated with the Syrian Government, and it is imperative that such assistance not reach terrorist groups. Given the challenges that have arisen from this protracted conflict, we appreciate and wish to commend the work of the humanitarian agencies. We reject the idea of those agencies being the victims of violence and military targets. However, we view with concern the fact that the extraordinary force that the humanitarian agencies represent is being blocked by the actions of terrorist organizations operating in Syria, which, as stated in the report, are stealing humanitarian assistance from multilateral agencies such as the World Food Programme for reasons of propaganda.”

Weapons and military capacity have been given to terrorist groups that today are expanding their barbaric acts and have destroyed the country. The existence of terrorist groups is not just a problem in Syria. The expansion of their actions currently affects neighbouring countries and threatens to broaden the their presence and control over other territories. That is why the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela wishes to reiterate that the only way to stop the humanitarian crisis hinges on a political solution to the conflict that is negotiated and inclusive. 43. “Moreover, Venezuela welcomes the fact that this resolution reaffirms resolution 2166 (2014) with respect to carrying out a transparent, full, exhaustive and independent international investigation, in conformity with international civil aviation guidelines, that makes it possible to determine responsibility for the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH-17 so as to bring to justice those responsible for that heinous act. We call on the parties to adhere strictly to the obligations pertaining to the protection of civilians, including the need to guarantee humanitarian access to provide assistance to internally displaced persons, refugees and other persons residing in the areas affected by the conflict, in accordance with the package of measures for the implementation of the 12 February Minsk agreements.”

50. “However, we are concerned that incidents continue to occur against Kosovo Serb citizens in certain areas, and we therefore call for appropriate measures to be taken to remedy this situation and prevent persecution and hostility on the basis of ethnicity or religion. We are further concerned that the sale ofbusinesses and property in Kosovo undermines the rights of the Kosovo Serb minority and may become yet another factor impeding the return of the displaced to their homes. Illegal actions against cultural and religious heritage have given rise to serious incidents between the two communities that hinder the process of peace and dialogue in Kosovo. We encourage both parties to work together to prevent a recurrence of such acts, which endanger peace and dialogue in the region.”
