Το ζητούμενο δεν είναι περιβάλλον ή οικονομία, αλλά ένα μοντέλο που διασφαλίζει περιβάλλον, κοινωνία και λειτουργικές μεταφορές μαζί. Σήμερα, η Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση θέτει φιλόδοξους στόχους για τη μετάβαση στα πράσινα καύσιμα, όπου απουσιάζουν εγγυήσεις βιωσιμότητας με κίνδυνο greenwashing και «πράσινη σφραγίδα» σε μη βιώσιμα καύσιμα. H Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, λοιπόν, είναι εγκλωβισμένη στην ιδεοληψία του νεοφιλελευθερισμού, με εξάρτηση από το ιδιωτικό κεφάλαιο και τις αγορές, χωρίς όμως αντίστοιχη δημόσια παραγωγική βάση. Συνάδελφοι, η ενέργεια είναι στρατηγικής σημασίας. Δεν μπορεί να αντιμετωπίζεται ως απλό εμπόρευμα.”

Η πλήρης ψηφιακή εξάρτηση γεννά επιτήρηση και κοινωνικό αποκλεισμό. Το δικαίωμα στα μετρητά είναι αναχρονισμός; Όχι. Είναι ασπίδα ελευθερίας, ισότητας και κοινωνικής συμμετοχής. Είναι θεμέλιο δημοκρατίας και ανθρώπινης αξιοπρέπειας. Ας το προστατέψουμε. 3-0555-0000”

“Κύριε Πρόεδρε, τον Φεβρουάριο του 2024 η Επιτροπή Αναφορών εξέτασε την αναφορά για το κρατικό έγκλημα στα Τέμπη της κυρίας Καρυστιανού, που στηρίχθηκε από 1,5 εκατομμύριο υπογραφές πολιτών. Κι όμως, μετά την εξέταση η αναφορά κόλλησε σε μια απλή ανταλλαγή εγγράφων μεταξύ των υπηρεσιών. Και μετά σιωπή. Καμία θεσμική έρευνα δεν ξεκίνησε, μόνο προσχηματικές συζητήσεις στην Ολομέλεια, κλειστές μεταξύ ομάδων και ναρκοθετημένες από το ΕΛΚ —το κόμμα της ελληνικής κυβέρνησης— και την ακροδεξιά. Όταν ως μέλος της Επιτροπής αιτήθηκα να επανέλθει επειγόντως η αναφορά για συζήτηση, όταν σας ενημέρωνα ότι πατέρας θύματος, ο Πάνος Ρούτσι, μόλις είχε ξεκινήσει απεργία πείνας και η ζωή του κινδύνευε, τι κάνατε; Τίποτα. Δυόμισι χρόνια εμπαιγμού της ελληνικής κυβέρνησης προς τους συγγενείς. Ενάμισης χρόνος απραξίας του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου.”

“Κυρία Πρόεδρε, η έκθεση Rodrigues καταργεί ελέγχους δίνοντας έδαφος στα σκάνδαλα διασπάθισης ευρωπαϊκών κονδυλίων, όπως αυτό του ΟΠΕΚΕΠΕ στην Ελλάδα. Αφήνει άθικτο το ευαγγέλιο της ΚΑΠ, το 80% των επιδοτήσεων να πηγαίνει στο 20% των δικαιούχων. Δεν μειώνει το κόστος του μικρού αγρότη, μειώνει μόνο τις υποχρεώσεις των μεγάλων. Η έκθεση Imart, αντίθετα, έχει καλές προθέσεις που όμως δεν αρκούν. Χωρίς δεσμευτικούς μηχανισμούς ελέγχου και ρήτρες απέναντι σε συμφωνίες τύπου Mercosur, oι αγρότες θα συνεχίζουν να απειλούνται από φτηνές, ανεξέλεγκτες εισαγωγές. Ερώτημα: Γιατί το κόστος ενέργειας και λιπασμάτων μένει εκτός συζήτησης, συνάδελφοι; Επίτροπε, για τους κτηνοτρόφους τι γίνεται με την ευλογιά των αιγοπροβάτων; Η Ελλάδα θανατώνει χιλιάδες ζώα αντί να τα εμβολιάζει.”

This effort will revolve around the recovery and reconstruction strategy, which can be led by a reformed Palestinian Authority. “The European Union has a key role to play as the longest standing supporter of the Palestinian Authority and its reform agenda. Since someone asked now 'what has the European Union done?' and someone said 'nothing, nada' – I just wanted to reiterate we are the biggest donor and supporter of the Palestinian Authority, because, if we are speaking about dialogue, about negotiations, we need both of them to sit at the table. So we need a strong Palestinian Authority to sit at the table and no Hamas – once again, I have to mention this. So this is our position. We also reiterate the indispensable role of the United Nations, also UNRWA, which continues to be an important partner in delivering assistance.”
“We need to learn from the lessons of the past, and we need to build on the momentum of the New York conference, which was co-led by France and Saudi Arabia. I have to mention the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution which is supported by the European Union and is best placed to sustain the political horizon and credible pathway to Palestinian statehood, which includes both Gaza and the West Bank, with the Palestinian Authority as the only viable partner. We want to achieve demilitarisation, effective transitional governance and establishing the International Stabilisation Force. These three elements are vital for sustainable peace and they will require careful coordination and stakeholder engagement.”
“We respect the humanitarian commitment of those that were aboard the flotilla. In the European Union, everyone, as all of us know, has the right to exercise such activism and freedom of assembly. This is a core pillar of our values. Freedom of navigation under international law must be upheld and no attacks or any use of force against the flotilla, including drone strikes or seizure, are acceptable. To end this reply, all consular authorities have been in charge and ensured consular protection to their citizens. This is the reply to some of your questions. Just to conclude, the path to a sustainable peace should be built on inclusive dialogue, as you know, and respect for international law.”
“This is what we are saying – to be adopted, this Commission's proposals require EU Member State support by unanimity and qualified majority, respectively. We are not putting on hold – I have to mention this – support to fight antisemitism and, among others, for Yad Vashem. We are not touching support for both Israeli and Palestinian civil society. To reply on genocide – as you know, the Commission will respect all rulings by the multilateral system based on international law and the universality of human rights. On the flotilla, because the flotilla was mentioned several times – of course, as you know, the Commission has remained in regular contact with Member States and with Israel regarding the humanitarian situation in Gaza. We reiterate their consistent call for rapid and unimpeded delivery of aid.”
“– Madam President, thank you dear members for your remarks – I was listening carefully. Just to conclude – the European Union remains, as you know, a steadfast proponent of the peace in the Middle East. We are committed to the two-state solution. But let me reply to some of your questions which were repeated. To Mr Botenga on sanctions, also some others such as Ms Montero: as you know, sanctions on the extremist ministers and on violent settlers and further sanctions against Hamas members – this was adopted by the Commission and proposed to the Council on 17 September. Also, there is a partial suspension of trade-related provisions of the Association Agreement. We are aware that it will be difficult to find majorities. I am talking about the Council, and I know that any action will be too much for some and too little for others.”

Σήμερα μιλάτε για τα δύο χρόνια της αδιαμφισβήτητης επίθεσης της Χαμάς. Ξεχνάτε, όμως, ότι το Ισραήλ επιτίθεται στην Παλαιστίνη συστηματικά από το 1948, που εκδίωξαν 700.000 ανθρώπους από τα σπίτια τους. Τότε, η Παλαιστίνη κατείχε το 70% της ιστορικής της γης. “Πρόκειται για οργανωμένη προσπάθεια εκτοπισμού των Ελλήνων και εποικισμού από Αλβανούς των εδαφών της ελληνικής μειονότητας. Η Ευρώπη οφείλει να στηρίξει τις τοπικές κοινότητες, να απαγορεύσει το κτίσιμο στα καμένα, να προστατεύσει την ελληνική μειονότητα στην Αλβανία και να χρηματοδοτήσει δίκτυα στέγασης, υγείας, πολιτικής προστασίας και πρόληψης σε όλη την Ευρώπη. 4-0061-0000”
“Κύριε Πρόεδρε, στην Ελλάδα οι πολίτες υποφέρουν από καύσωνες-ρεκόρ. Οι πυρκαγιές ξεσπούν από ξύλινες κολώνες και πυλώνες της Δημόσιας Εταιρείας Ηλεκτρισμού, που μετά την ιδιωτικοποίηση έμειναν χωρίς συντήρηση γιατί θεωρήθηκε μεγάλο το κόστος. Οι πυροσβέστες παραμένουν εποχικοί εργαζόμενοι με ελλιπή υλικοτεχνικό εξοπλισμό. Οι βουνοκορφές γεμίζουν ανεμογεννήτριες μέσα σε δάση και περιοχές Natura. Αυτή είναι η εικόνα μιας πολιτικής που παραδίδει τη χώρα στο κέρδος και αφήνει τους πολίτες απροστάτευτους. Οι αποζημιώσεις δεν έρχονται. Στην Αλβανία, ο κ. Rama μετά τις φωτιές που κατέκαψαν 111 τετραγωνικά χιλιόμετρα γης της ελληνικής μειονότητας, όχι μόνο δεν πρόσφερε καμία βοήθεια, αλλά τώρα επιτρέπει την οικοδόμηση στα καμένα.”

J'espère et je suis sûre que le Parlement va prouver dans les jours à venir qu'il est pratiquant. Quid aujourd'hui du Conseil? Est-il pratiquant ou est-il seulement fait de belles paroles et de croyances? “There are clearly other areas where we have to act – several were mentioned during this debate – and the Commission is putting forward other strategies as well. The savings and investments union is a horizontal enabler, a strategy to actually put the resources we have in the EU to their best use – and putting them to their best use is to support our companies and our citizens everywhere in the European Union. We are moving fast in tabling our proposals, as I mentioned. As is clear in the table annexed to the strategy, we are tabling all proposals related to capital markets before year's end, so within one year of the beginning of this mandate. But I have to count on you to help us move forward really fast, because the world will not wait for us. I am very much looking forward to continuing to cooperate with you in getting things done.”

Όμως, αντί να μιλήσει για κοινωνικές ανάγκες, για ανισότητες, για μισθούς και κοινωνικό κράτος, η απάντηση που δίνεται είναι περισσότερη εξάρτηση από τις αγορές, περισσότερη δύναμη σε τράπεζες και funds. Δηλαδή, ο «καζινοκαπιταλισμός» που έχει ήδη καταρρεύσει ξανασερβίρεται ως λύση. Στον Βορρά μιλούν για ανταγωνιστικότητα, ενώ στον Νότο οι λαοί ζουν με μισθούς φτώχειας, μετανάστευση νέων, δημόσια συστήματα υγείας και παιδείας υπό κατάρρευση. Αυτή είναι η Ευρώπη των δύο ταχυτήτων. Δεν χρειαζόμαστε άλλο «καζινοκαπιταλισμό» και εξάρτηση από τις αγορές που χρεοκόπησαν την Ευρώπη και γέννησαν ανισότητες.”

“Κυρία Πρόεδρε, η ΚΓΠ στραγγαλίζει τους μικρούς αγρότες, μετατρέπει τις επιδοτήσεις σε παγίδα. Αντί να στηρίζει την παραγωγή και την αυτάρκεια, παράγει εξαρτήσεις και αδιέξοδα. Σήμερα οι αγρότες εγκαταλείπουν τη γη τους εξαιτίας της πολιτικής της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. Δεν σας φτάνει αυτό. Φέρνετε και τη συμφωνία Mercosur. Στην Ελλάδα τα χρήματα της ΚΓΠ έγιναν εργαλείο εξαγοράς ψήφων. Μια κυβερνητική συμμορία διασπάθισε τα κοινοτικά κονδύλια μοιράζοντάς τα σε ημετέρους μέσω εικονικών βοσκοτόπων και ψεύτικων δηλώσεων, με τη συμμετοχή των διορισμένων στελεχών του ΟΠΕΚΕΠΕ, του εθνικού φορέα διαχείρισης και πληρωμών των κονδυλίων της ΚΓΠ. Η Ευρωπαία Εισαγγελέας ξεσκέπασε την απάτη. Τέσσερις υπουργοί παραιτήθηκαν, 415 εκατομμύρια το πρόστιμο για τον λαό.”

“Κυρία Πρόεδρε, μιλάτε για Ένωση Ετοιμότητας; Ποια ετοιμότητα; Όταν η ίδια η Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση χρηματοδοτεί την καταστροφή; Το πρόγραμμα AntiNero εφαρμόζεται στην Ελλάδα χωρίς περιβαλλοντική αδειοδότηση, παραβιάζοντας τις οδηγίες τις ευρωπαϊκές, καταστρέφοντας περιοχές Natura και δάση με δήθεν αντιπυρικές εργασίες που ισοδυναμούν με συστηματικές αποψιλώσεις. Δεν αποτρέπει τις πυρκαγιές. Τις διευκολύνει. Σήμερα η Ελλάδα καίγεται ξανά. Κατέθεσα γραπτή ερώτηση στην Επιτροπή. Μου απάντησε ότι δεν διαθέτει καμία πληροφορία για το έργο, παρότι το χρηματοδοτεί με εκατοντάδες εκατομμύρια ευρώ από το Ταμείο Ανάκαμψης. Θα ελέγξει, λέει, όταν έρθει η ώρα να πληρώσει, τότε που η ζημιά θα είναι ανεπανόρθωτη.”
“Ο ελληνικός λαός ποτέ δεν ρωτήθηκε για να αποδεχτεί την ψευτο-Μακεδονία. Ποτέ δεν θα αποδεχτούμε την εσκεμμένη παραχάραξη της ιστορίας μας. “Κυρία Πρόεδρε, η συμφωνία των Πρεσπών είναι μια άκυρη συμφωνία, εργαλείο γεωπολιτικών συμφερόντων και αλυτρωτισμού. Ένα προϊόν εξαναγκασμού και πολιτικής χειραγώγησης που υπαγορεύτηκε από την κυβέρνηση Trump στην τότε κυβέρνηση Τσίπρα και επιβλήθηκε χωρίς δημοκρατική νομιμοποίηση, με εξαγορά βουλευτών και εκβιασμούς, τόσο στην Ελλάδα όσο και στη γειτονική χώρα. Στηρίζεται σε πλαστή ιστορία, που οι ηγέτες των Σκοπίων για δεκαετίες έχτιζαν μια ψεύτικη εθνική ταυτότητα των δήθεν απογόνων των αρχαίων Μακεδόνων, για να ενώσουν με αυτόν τον τρόπο τις τόσο διαφορετικές εθνικές ταυτότητες των ανθρώπων που ζούσαν στην περιοχή: Τούρκοι, Σέρβοι, Σλάβοι, Αλβανοί, Ρομ, Έλληνες, Βούλγαροι. Ούτε μακεδονική ταυτότητα, ούτε μακεδονική εθνικότητα υπήρξε ποτέ στην αρχαία ρωμαϊκή Scupi ή στη γιουγκοσλαβική επαρχία Vardarska του προηγούμενου αιώνα.”

“But one thing is different to other countries in the Western Balkans: everybody is pro‑European in the Albanian Parliament and also in the Albanian society itself. I think this is also the power which can lead to implement all the necessary reforms. This is the power which can lead towards the European Union. We have to say, the success of these reforms is in the interest of Albania and the Albanian citizens, but it's also in the interest of the European Union and the European citizens. Therefore, it's worth working on this. Finally, I also want to say that very soon, the European Parliament will open its antenna office, which is responsible not only for Albania in Albania, but will be also a liaison office for implementing all these reforms in the Western Balkan countries.”

“Κυρία Πρόεδρε, η έκθεση για την Αλβανία αποκρύπτει τη ζοφερή πραγματικότητα που βιώνει ο ελληνισμός της Βόρειας Ηπείρου. Εκτάσεις καταπατώνται, εγκαθίστανται Αλβανοί έποικοι, σπίτια κατεδαφίζονται, όπως στη Χειμάρρα και στον Αυλώνα, δήθεν στο όνομα της τουριστικής ανάπτυξης, με κρατική κάλυψη και σε βάρος των νόμιμων ιδιοκτητών. Η ελληνική μειονότητα συρρικνώνεται δημογραφικά όχι μόνο λόγω μετανάστευσης, αλλά και λόγω νοθευμένων απογραφών, κατά τις οποίες οι αρχές αποθαρρύνουν ή απορρίπτουν τη δήλωση ελληνικής ταυτότητας. Πρώτα, οι ευρωπαϊκές βιομηχανίες και οι πολυεθνικές μετέφεραν μαζικά την παραγωγή τους στην Κίνα για να εκμεταλλευτούν φτηνά εργατικά χέρια και πρώτες ύλες. Έπειτα, η Κίνα έχτισε ναυτιλιακούς στόλους, αγόρασε λιμάνια όπως αυτό του Πειραιά, συνολικά συμμετέχει σε 10 ευρωπαϊκά λιμάνια, εγκαθίδρυσε καθεστώς εργασιακής εκμετάλλευσης με εργολαβίες και περιορισμένα εργασιακά δικαιώματα, με εργατικά ατυχήματα και δυστυχήματα, περιβαλλοντική μόλυνση, οικονομικές απάτες στα τελωνεία της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. Τρεις αναφορές για την COSCO βρίσκονται στην Επιτροπή Αναφορών. Καμία απάντηση από τον Φεβρουάριο. Στην Ελλάδα εξαγόρασε πολιτικούς από σχεδόν όλα τα κόμματα, και δημοσιογράφους. “E termino, justamente citando aquilo que consta do Roteiro Estratégico do Grupo BEI para 2024‑2027, que são as seguintes áreas: o banco do clima, o que suscitou uma oposição feroz da extrema‑direita, mas isso é compreensível — até porque tem uma perspetiva negacionista em relação às alterações climáticas —; a digitalização e a implantação das novas tecnologias, o que nos permitirá recuperar o atraso em relação a outras economias mais avançadas do que a nossa; a indústria da segurança e da defesa, uma opção política que resulta das transformações geopolíticas ocorridas nos últimos anos; uma política de coesão moderna, que corresponde também a uma opção maioritária; a agricultura e a bioeconomia; a infraestrutura social da Europa — e aqui quero salientar justamente a dimensão da habitação —, e os investimentos de elevado impacto fora da UE, e ainda a União dos Mercados de Capitais.”

“Before I come back to the next MFF, one remark on the robustness of the EIB, which some of you have alluded to. We do comply with the highest standards of external prudential oversight, while considering the necessary adaptation derived from being a public institution. We operate under a robust and multi-layered accountability set up by the 27 finance ministers, which exceeds the standards of many other banks. Given our size and considering our specific business model, together with the Governors, we have set up several institutions looking into the way we function. We have independent external experts in our audit committee.”
“These are extremely important projects for every citizen of Europe. There are investments in energy, for example, in critical raw materials. Now, if you allow me to look ahead. We have a demanding geopolitical and economic landscape, the Commissioner alluded to that, and we also know we must do better and do faster. Simplification is key. We are working hard to reduce administrative complexity, streamline procedures and provide more tailored support to local authorities and SMEs. The swift adoption of the investment simplification Omnibus, as well as the Omnibus to simplify the External Action Guarantee is very important as it will help mobilise an estimated EUR 75 billion in public and private investment both inside and outside the EU, at no cost for the European taxpayers and without waiting for the next MFF.”
“We have launched a dedicated platform in partnership with the Commission and a plan that foresees well over EUR 4 billion in new investments in this area when it comes to innovation, renovation and new builds. We aim to double our financing again, trying to deliver 1.5 million new and renovated homes across Europe by 2030. The projects we are financing will provide student accommodation, for example, but also affordable apartments for public sector workers in Prague, with many more examples in Austria, Croatia, Ireland, Portugal and Spain. Also outside Europe we are active. Firstly and foremost in Ukraine to support the people of Ukraine; secondly, in those countries who are candidate members of the EU; thirdly, in our southern neighbourhood; and fourthly elsewhere across the globe.”
