Mir ist bewusst, dass das, was wir als Hassrede kennen, normalerweise starke, diffamierende, eindeutige Aussagen sind. Aber ich glaube, gerade Sie, Frau Präsidentin, als auch Deutsche wissen, dass Hassrede heutzutage in unserer Gesellschaft auch die ständige Verschiebung des Sagbaren ist, der ständige unterschwellige Versuch, solche widerlichen, demokratiefeindlichen Ideen zu einem legitimen Bestandteil unseres demokratischen Diskurses zu machen.”

“Et quand le Conseil européen prend une décision par consensus le 18 décembre; quand le Conseil demande par unanimité au Parlement européen la permission de changer le budget; quand le Parlement européen donne ses permis pour changer le budget, personne ne peut arrêter une décision qui est en cours et qui manque seulement sa formalisation finale. Parce que le Parlement européen a donné son consentement dans les précis termes que le Conseil avait demandés. Et finalement, on doit agir de bonne foi. “A primeira preocupação foi garantir que a Eslováquia e a Hungria tinham a sua segurança energética assegurada — e está assegurada —, quer porque podem utilizar um pipeline que provém do Adriático, quer porque há um pipeline alternativo com origem em Odessa. A segunda preocupação foi garantir que havia condições de reparar o pipeline, e não só manifestámos apoio técnico e financeiro à Ucrânia para o poder reparar, como temos a garantia escrita do presidente Zelensky de que que o pipeline estará reparado nas próximas semanas. É um ato de grande generosidade por parte da Ucrânia, porque corresponde ao compromisso que assumiu com a Europa de manter o pipeline operacional e à deliberação que tomámos de excecionar, até ao final de 2027, a Hungria e a Eslováquia da obrigação de cessar a importação de gás russo.”

“Europa tiene que promover la paz, y por eso estamos diciendo que todos tienen que desescalar el conflicto, que Israel tiene que hablar con las autoridades libanesas para coordinar el desarme de Hezbolá y respetar la integridad territorial del Líbano. Estamos promoviendo la paz cuando mostramos agradecimiento a Grecia, Francia, Italia, España y Holanda, que han enviado medios militares para defender a Chipre, un Estado miembro de esta Unión Europea que ha sido afectado por el ataque de Hezbolá. At the same time, we are well aware that there is important work ahead of us. A key part of that will be carried by the Council.”
“I think that, across the board in this debate, there has been agreement that we need to act with urgency on energy independence for our Union. The Commissioner referred to successive crises and I would say that at every crisis we have learned a lesson. This is also the time to act on the lessons we are learning from this crisis. “I am grateful that it seems like there is a clear majority in this House who shares the analysis that the real problem for us in Europe, when it comes to energy, is our dependency on fossil fuels. It is a problem for our security, it is a problem for our prosperity and it is a problem because we need to get rid of it to fight climate change. Now, to those of you who argue that the way to solve the present crisis is to go back to more fossils, I'll say that is like trying to prevent diabetes by telling the patient to eat more sugar. It will do the opposite. It will hurt us. It will make us more dependent. Every year, we import more than EUR 370 billion worth of fossils. Maybe it is a good idea to change that.”

“Mr President, dear people of Europe, I supported this resolution because a rules‑based multilateral trading system is essential for global economic stability and prosperity. The WTO remains a key framework that provides predictability and legal certainty for international trade. However, global trade is under increasing pressure from protectionism and outdated rules. That is why the WTO must be modernised to address new realities such as digital trade, sustainability and fair competition. For me and for the Party of Progress, international cooperation – based on clear rules, transparency and fairness – is essential. Trade should create opportunities while supporting sustainable and fair development. My vote therefore supports strengthening multilateral cooperation and ensuring that global trade remains open, fair and predictable.”

“Mr President, dear people of Europe, I supported the report on package travel and linked travel arrangements, because travellers in Europe deserve clear and reliable protection when booking package holidays. The experience during the COVID-19 pandemic showed that parts of the current Directive were unclear, especially regarding cancellation, refunds and travellers' rights. This report improves consumer protection and simplifies the rules for travellers, to get them clear and safe information about their rights, and better protection in case of problems or insolvency. For me, and for the Party of Progress, strong consumer rights and transparent markets are key priorities. My vote therefore supports clearer rules, stronger protection for travellers and a fair framework for the European travel market.”
